A serene and uplifting image symbolizing balance, flow, and personal growth. The scene features soft natural elements like a winding river flowing gently through a lush green valley under a warm, golden sunrise. A silhouette of a person practicing yoga or meditation on a grassy bank reflects inner peace and connection with nature. The atmosphere is calm and inspiring, evoking ease, flow, and purpose.

Life in Flow: Why I’m Starting This Blog

November 01, 20243 min read

Welcome to Life in Flow! This blog is a space where I’ll be sharing my journey and reflections, from breathwork and strength training to personal growth and empowerment through life’s transitions

I’ve created this blog because I believe in the power of connection; both to ourselves and to each other. Whether it’s through moving our bodies, nourishing our minds, or finding flow in our daily lives, I want to share the tools, stories, and insights that have helped me and my clients create meaningful change.

My Journey to This Blog

I’d love to say that this blog feels like a natural extension of the work I’ve been doing for years. It absolutely makes sense to share the many insights, experiences and learning that have come together over this time. But I must say that writing feels like one of the most unnatural things to me in the world (right now)... however, I have learned many times over that the places I’m often afraid to explore hold the most beautiful treasure.

So here we go.

My journey here has been anything other than a straight path. I spent 10 years as a dietitian in the NHS, witnessing how long-term health conditions, stress, and a lack of self-care could deeply affect patients, colleagues, and even myself.

One of the most transformative moments in my life came when I discovered breathwork. At a time when I was struggling with burnout and feeling disconnected from myself, breathwork gave me a space to pause and reconnect. It wasn’t always easy…breathing consciously can bring up emotions we’ve tucked away, but it taught me to trust myself in the moment.

This practice helped me begin to release old patterns and find a new sense of calm and clarity that continues to shape my life and work today.

Slow flow is still flow

This blog is also a step into discomfort for me. Writing has never come naturally, it often feels sticky, like moving through treacle. But just like breathwork and strength training, I’ve learned that slow flow is still flow. It’s something I’m working through, and I hope this blog becomes a space where I can embrace that process while sharing it with you.

What You’ll Find Here

This blog is built around the idea that our well-being is interconnected. Each post will reflect one of the pillars I use in my coaching:

  • Move: Strength training insights, mobility tips, and ways to feel empowered in your body.

  • Connect: Breathwork practices, reflections on mindfulness, and tools to connect with your inner self.

  • Nourish: Guidance on nutrition, mental health, and creating balance in a busy world.

You’ll also find personal stories from my own journey, practical tips to apply to your life, and reflections inspired by my podcast and client work.

Why "Life in Flow"?

For me, living in flow is about finding ease and alignment, even in the busiest and most challenging seasons of life. It’s about stepping away from the “all or nothing” mindset and creating sustainable habits that honor where you are right now.

Through this blog, I hope to inspire you to reconnect with yourself, embrace the small wins, and trust that growth is possible, no matter where you’re starting from.

A Journey We Can Share

Whether you’re here for strength training tips, breathing practices, or a space to reflect on your own growth, I’m so glad you’re here. This blog is as much about sharing my journey as it is about encouraging yours. Let’s take this step together, one breath, one movement, one moment at a time.

So that is it for now, until next time...

Wishing you strength and ease
